Knitting I-Cord Jewelry
Instructed by Laura Riley
Class Includes 2 sessions – October 22 and 29 (Saturdays)
Time: 10 a.m. till 12 noon
Are you interested in knitting but haven’t tried it yet? Maybe you’ve heard that learning to knit is difficult and finishing a project can take weeks, even months! If you answered yes, this class is for you.
I-cord is used in traditional knitting for hat ties, edgings and other decorative elements. In this class we will fashion necklaces and bracelets with the cords out of soft sock yarn. It’s possible to complete a custom I-cord necklace including beads and jewelry fittings in an evening. Just think of all the one-of-a-kind gifts you can make between now and Christmas! The knitting skill required to make these pieces is limited to cast on, knit and cast-off. Stringing beads and attaching clasps are both quick to learn skills.
Register online before October 20.
Cost: $40 and includes supplies!
Instructor will provide all materials necessary to make one or two pieces of jewelry. You may bring your own double-pointed sock needles in sizes 2, 3 or 4, or borrow a pair.
Maximum number of students for this popular class is 10, so register soon!

About Laura: One of six children, I was raised by a busy mom, who instilled in me a love of fabric. Though I learned to sew and knit at a young age, it was the arrival of my first grandchild in 2008 that pushed me to take up knitting in a more dedicated manner. Many years and another grandchild later, I spend happy hours designing and knitting hats, scarves, shawls, sweaters and socks for the people in my life.
