About Katy Tate:

Born and raised in central Texas, award-winning artist Kathy Tate lives with her husband on their ranch a few miles from “Cowboy Capital” Stephenville, Texas.

At an early age, her artistic abilities were evident with her first Big Chief tablet and box of Crayola crayons. In a time when abstract art was popular in college, she chose to study architectural drawing.  With no formal art education, she was fortunate to have attended workshops under such artists as Martin Grelle, Bruce Greene, George Hallmark, and Master Impressionists C.W. Mundy and Carolyn Anderson.

With a love of antiques and historic architecture, her work often contains objects in her collection of antiques as well as old homes and other structures found throughout Texas.

Tate’s work has been featured in many shows including “Small Works, Great Wonders,” Briscoe Museum’s Night of Artists, “The Russell” CM Russell Museum, Oil Painters of America, American Women Artists, and Bosque Art Classic.
